MGM Brakes, a division of Indian Head Industries, Inc., is the leading supplier of spring brake actuators and service chambers for domestic and global truck, trailer, bus and specialty vehicles for the commercial vehicle industry. We are currently seeking a highly enthusiastic individual for a Human Resources Administrator located at our Cloverdale, CA. manufacturing facility.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for providing employment and employee related support and administration for the hourly employees of the Cloverdale, CA manufacturing location including but not limited to: maintaining employee records and files; processing weekly payroll; reporting work-related injuries and maintaining OSHA records accordingly; assisting with recruitment efforts (scheduling candidate interviews, completing reference checks, conducting new employee orientation, and assisting with benefits administration and enrollment forms); assisting with employee relations matters, administering various employee leave of absence administration; and planning employee special events. This position works closely with plant management and Corporate Human Resources regarding local plant related matters involving employment laws (i.e. Affirmative Action, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.). The responsible person will assist with the administration of the local Collective Bargaining Agreement (Union contract); bringing to the attention of management when contract concerns may arise; may assist with and participate in Union contract negotiations. The Human Resources Administrator does not have final decision making authority but will assist with and be involved in Company policy administration and distribution based on the direction by Plant Manager and Corporate Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate’s Degree in related field and/or equivalent of 2+ years of experience is required: Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Knowledge of employment principles and practices
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.); HRIS systems
• Ability to research, read and interpret federal and state laws, rules and regulations
• Ability to show sensitivity, tact and professionalism towards employees
• Ability to adhere to strict code of confidentiality
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Effective problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
